วันนี้จะมานำเสนอเทคนิควิธีการพูดภาษาอังกฤษให้สุภาพ คือ เปลี่ยนจาก negative adjectives เป็น positive adjectives
ยกตัวอย่างเหตุการณ์จริงๆ ในร้านอาหารแห่งหนึ่ง เอิ๊กๆ
- “ร้านอาหารนี้สกปรก”
แปลตรงตัวว่า The restaurant was dirty.
พูดอย่างสุภาพว่า The restaurant was not clean. - “พนักงานเสิร์ฟมีกิริยาหยาบคาย”
แปลตรงตัวว่า The waiter was rude.
พูดอย่างสุภาพว่า The waiter was not polite. - “พนักงานงานให้บริการช้ามาก”
แปลตรงตัวว่า The services was slow.
พูดอย่างสุภาพว่า The services was not efficient. - “อาหารจานนี้เย็นมากเรย”
แปลตรงตัวว่า The food was cold.
พูดอย่างสุภาพว่า The food was not hot.
อีกตัวอย่างนึง
- “ผมไม่สะดวกเวลานั้นเลย”
แปลตรงตัวว่า That time is inconvenient.
พูดอย่างสุภาพว่า That time is not convenient. - “ไอเดียของคุณช่างโง่เขลานัก”
แปลตรงตัวว่า Your idea is stupid.
พูดอย่างสุภาพว่า I don’t think that idea is very smart, because it is mainly to cause the problem. - “สิ่งที่นำเสนอมามันไร้สาระมาก”
แปลตรงตัวว่า The proposal is quite useless.
พูดอย่างสุภาพว่า I find that proposal is not very useful.
